March 17/02: This is only on my Humour page because it's a rolled Ford; the actual circumstances are not funny at all.
Al Berikoff, the owner of 4OffRd was out at Stave Lake, driving along the dirt access road. Suddenly, from around a corner, appeared a car and a dirtbike racing each other, heading right for him. With nowhere to go, Al chose to drive off the road and down a 50-foot cliff rather than kill a kid on a dirtbike. His truck did a complete 360º barrel-roll in the air, struck a tree with the driver's side, and fell to the ground. He's in Maple Ridge Hospital with seven broken ribs and a lot of bruising.
Let me take this opportunity to say "Way to go, Al !" for risking his own life to save a complete stranger, and urge the rest of you to please drive safely at all times.
